What Were Your Reasons And Motivations For Starting A Transformation Journey With (your gym)?
I originally joined Real Results – Fitness & Performance after a bad doctor’s visit. I had just turned 52, weighed over 190 lbs, and had high blood pressure. I was completely out of shape and felt miserable both physically and mentally.
How Were You Feeling Both Physically And Mentally Before Starting With (your gym)?
I was completely drained of energy, physically and mentally exhausted and unmotivated.
What Was Your Diet And Lifestyle Like Before You Started Your Transformation With (your gym)?
Before joining Real Results – Fitness & Performance I wasn’t exercising and had bad eating habits.
How Did Your Diet And Lifestyle Change When You Started Your Transformation With (your gym)?
My lifestyle completely changed. I’m now exercising daily and my diet is now based on healthy food options.
What Effect Did This Have On Your Health, Performance, Lifestyle And Energy Inside And Outside The Gym?
I have more energy, more confidence, I’ve gained strength, mobility, and agility. I’ve developed better eating and exercise habits. I’ve even eliminated one of my blood pressure medicines and am working on eliminating the other.
What Have Been The Biggest Benefits Of Doing A Transformation At (your gym)?
Increased confidence, not only in my appearance but also in every aspect of my life. I noticed how my transformation has motivated everyone around me. I have increased motivation for work, my stamina has improved and I am able to manage stress better in my everyday life.
What Were Your Results Like Since Joining (your gym)?
Since, I joined the 12-week Life Changer program, I have lost 42 pounds, gained muscle, strength, athletic ability, dropped several dress sizes going from a size 16 to an 8.
What Were The Most Important Things You Learned During Your Journey And What Really Worked For You In Helping You Make Your Transformation?
The most important things I learned were consistency, discipline, persistence and time management. This has helped me in making the workout sessions more effective, in making the right food choices and tracking my calories and macronutrients, keeping me focused on my lifelong goal of a healthy lifestyle and not letting the anxieties/stressors in life derail my progress.
How Has Doing This Transformation Changed You And Do You Think It Will Benefit You Going Forward?
I have created a new version of myself with the help of my trainer, Dustin. Dustin looked at all aspects of my program including nutrition and training both inside and outside the gym. The process required discipline and planning, not just inside the gym, but for my whole new lifestyle. I think the main benefit for me has been my improved health.
What Makes The 12-Week Life Changer Program Different And Would You Recommend It To Others?
What makes the 12-week Life Changer Program effective and special is the support that Dustin has given our group. He has the dedication, passion, knowledge, and an eye for detail. From the onset of the program, he has always encouraged/motivated us and imparted his knowledge so that our exercise technique is correct and effective. Dustin takes the time to know what our strengths and weaknesses are and is able push us to achieve more than what we did the day before. He makes sure we are at all the workouts, that we are keeping up with our food journaI, and recording what we did in our workout sessions; when we send him pictures of our daily food intake, Dustin makes sure we are on point with our calories and macro-nutrients; he reinforces the importance of daily mobility, getting at least 7 hours of sleep, keeping hydrated, decreasing stress levels and always maintaining a positive attitude. What Were Your Reasons And Motivations For Starting A Transformation Journey With Fit Mom University?
I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I hated how I looked in my clothes. I was overweight and I knew I needed to lose weight. It was time for a change. Many at FMU were having success with transformations. One of the coaches at FMU encouraged me to join a transformation and that was the push I needed to start my own!
How Were You Feeling Both Physically And Mentally Before Starting With Fit Mom University?
I was overweight, out of shape, and I didn’t like the way I looked at all. I knew I needed to lose weight and I felt that I couldn’t. I didn’t really know where to begin. Physically, I would get winded easily when running and exercising. The scale dictated my mood and if I didn’t like what I saw I would feel badly about myself.
What Was Your Diet And Lifestyle Like Before You Started Your Transformation With Fit Mom University?
I thought I was eating healthy by eating “diet” foods. I really didn’t know what healthy eating looked like. Portions? What’s that? I didn’t think about portion size or the kinds of foods I was putting in my body. I would drink a glass of wine or have a cocktail with dinner and never thought of the calories it contained. I worked out a few times a week so I felt that should be enough. I wondered why I couldn’t lose weight.
How Did Your Diet And Lifestyle Change When You Started Your Transformation With Fit Mom University?
I changed my eating habits and have stuck with the meal plan ever since. I log in my food every day to the MyFitnessPal app and count my macros (carbs, fats, and protein).  I exercise religiously 5x per week at RBF, every morning, Monday through Friday at 5 am. I look forward to starting my day with an a$$ kicking. I pay attention to everything that I put in my body.
What Effect Did This Have On Your Health, Performance, Lifestyle And Energy Inside And Outside The Gym?
I make my health a priority. When I’m on vacation I stay active by utilizing the gym, hike, run, or make up my own body weight  workout. As for my performance, I can now run a sub 26 minute 5k when before it was 32 minutes+. I can complete 6 or more unassisted pull-ups. It hasn’t had a negative affect at all. I’m still able to go out with friends for dinner and drinks. I just make sure every other meal is on point and order something healthy that is offered. It hasn’t just affected my health but my husband’s as well. He saw my results and as a result changed his eating habits. He also has lost 30 pounds! Family and friends ask for recipes and advice and I’m more than happy to share!
What Have Been The Biggest Benefits Of Doing A Transformation At Fit Mom University?
The biggest benefits from my transformation would be the boost in self confidence. I look better and continue to get compliments on my progress! People started to notice my weight loss within a few months. I know how to eat healthy and balance my meals.
What Were Your Results Like Since Joining Fit Mom University?
I lost over 30 lbs and I’m in the best shape of my life at almost 40. It’s been over two years and I’ve kept the weight off. My 5k time improved from over 32 minutes to 25:05 minutes! I feel strong and I can do pull-ups, climb a rope, flip tires, high box jumps … you name it! My muscles are toned and people notice!
What Were The Most Important Things You Learned During Your Journey And What Really Worked For You In Helping You Make Your Transformation?
It’s not a diet. It’s a lifestyle change. I think differently about food now. I focus on eating whole foods and don’t feel guilty for allowing myself to a treat once and awhile. I balance my meals with lean protein, with healthy carbs and fats. I still keep track of the foods I eat to hold myself accountable and to stay on track. Healthy eating does NOT mean starving yourself. I actually eat more now than before since I’m eating quality whole foods. My workouts are awesome and intense but I also know I need to give myself a rest day or two as well. Planning is a big key to success. I plan out my meals and workouts ahead of time so I’m sure to set myself up for a good week. I allow myself to have a treat but always in moderation. I have found meals that are healthy and delicious so I know it’s sustainable in the long run. DON’T get hung up on what the scale says. It is not a true indicator of progress!
How Has Doing This Transformation Changed You And Do You Think It Will Benefit You Going Forward?
It has changed me in many ways. I know the keys to success and I know I can stick with it for the rest of my life. I have more self confidence and I know I look good in a bikini! I know how to eat healthy. It may sound silly, but before the transformation I really didn’t know what that looked like. Rob taught me how to balance my meals and what clean eating was.
What Makes Fit Mom University Different And Would You Recommend It To Others?
This program is different because of Rob and the coaches at RBF (FMU). They are encouraging and available if you have any questions or need anything. Really everyone at RBF is encouraging! It’s like a family! The accountability piece is is different. Those weekly checks help you stay on track. You can really see the progress that way. Of course I would (and have) recommended the program to others. It has changed my life for the better and I know it would benefit others as well!
